Che 1-1 Eve: Chelsea Fans Alarmed To See Star Player Involved In Miss Of The Season.

Chelsea fans were horrified to see star player Mason Mount involved in a ‘miss of the season’ type of situation as the Blues were held 0-0 at half-time by Everton.

The west Londoners were so dominant in the first half against Rafa Benitez’ strugglers that at one point in the half, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva had completed more passes overall in comparison to the whole Toffees side.

Yet again, a lack of composure in front of goal demonstrates the one problem that hasn’t yet been solved despite the £97.5million signing of Romelu Lukaku.

With the Belgian international was ruled out alongside three other players due to contracting Covid-19, it was down to Mount, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic to provide the goals in this contest and despite all having chances in the first period, a combination of good saves from Jordan Pickford coupled with lacklustre finishing from the trio cost the European Champions in the first half.

Thomas Tuchel told what he must do to ensure Chelsea win Premier League title ahead of Man City
At the interval, it was 81.6 percent of possession for the home side with a total of 13 shots and an xG of 2.10 but yet no goal to show for these statistics.

In the 36th minute, Chelsea’s number 19 committed a miss of the season contender with his miss from point blank range which was saved by Pickford.

Realistically, Mount is one to tuck away those chances with no problem but when you see misses like these coupled with the early Reece James miss, you just wonder if it was going to be Chelsea’s night in the end.

Here’s how the Blues fans reacted to this specific howler on social media.

@_Afeh described the miss in his own words: ‘Miss of the season from mount.’

@SilentB86409328 pointed out: ‘Mount had 2 chances, 1 an absolute sitter. James missed a sitter. Ziyech has had 2 good chances. Not sure you can complain about creativity. xg is over 2 for that half alone.’

@Mr_Cazia tweeted: ‘How can Mason Mount miss such a chance for Christ sake?’

@ChelseaUnbiased controversially put: ‘Fact in this game is Mount has been the problem.’

@GideonHayford17 made a comparison of sorts: ‘Look at Mount too… Werner would score that goal simple.’

On the contrary, @daby_chukqu was quick to defend the player in question after that uncharacteristic error in front of goal: ‘If we don’t get maximum points today eh, if I hear or see Mason Mount’s slander, I will walk and pass without pain.’

The one all draw with Everyone makes the Blues remains at third position on the EPL table with 37 points behind Liverpool .
