Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher was on target twice on Sunday evening, scoring the opener for Crystal Palace against Everton and then sealing all three points in style with a stunning effort in stoppage time.
The goals take the midfielder to a tally of six for the season, further impressing in what is just his first season in the Premier League.
The first goal was a well-placed finish just inside the box, while the second late in the match was a fantastic curling shot just outside the box that beat Jordan Pickford in the Toffees’ goal.
The 21-year-old has done well at Selhurst Park since his arrival in the summer, managing to make a first senior England men’s squad under Gareth Southgate.
His form has led to some calling for him to be recalled in January to help the Blues in their title charge come the second half of the season.
However, football.london understands that Gallagher does not expect to return to Stamford Bridge during the winter, despite an injury crisis in the middle of the park.
In November, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel discussed the fortunes of the midfielder and the chances of a recall.
He said: “Actually I haven’t thought about it.
“I think it is important for him to be happy where he is and not change things. It is important to be calm, I feel him happy there and that he is having this impact at Crystal Palace.
“It is too early to talk about that in public before we talk with Conor himself and what his goals are.
“This will happen in the summer as we all agreed to the decision that we wanted to send him to Palace.
“He saw a possibility for him. I am not surprised the national coach loves him because I loved him from day one.
“Humble, nice, smile on his face and all the time ready to give everything, want to learn and improve.”
Fans were quick to take to social media after the goal, discussing his impact at Palace.
