The Governor of Kaduna state has lost his polling unit in the just-concluded Saturday local government elections. According to report, El-rufai lost his 01 Polling Unit at Ungwan Sarki in Kaduna North Local Government Area of the state.
Presiding officer, Sani Muhammadu, announced that out of 159 total votes cast, the PDP garnered 86 votes against the APC’s 62 votes for the chairmanship position.
Also in the Councillorship results, PDP garnered 100 votes while the APC got 53 votes.
The governor had earlier lamented over Voter Apathy as the turnout for the elections were low. He also expressed that he was not interested in cheating or rigging the electoral exercise.
Recall that the Kaduna State Government’s innovative use of technology to promote election integrity made the state the first in Nigeria to adopt electronic voting, and the second government entity in Africa to achieve the feat after Namibia.
We also learnt that the State Electoral Commission had to suspend the exercise in four local government Areas due to insecurity. The LGAs are Zango-Kataf, Birnin-Gwari, Kajuru and Chikun
