Latest Update On The Much Awaited Chelsea Zenit Fraca

Stamford Bridge will come alive again for Champions League football as Chelsea host Zenit St Petersburg on Tuesday night.

Defending champions Chelsea begin their Group H campaign against the Russian side as they hope to retain the trophy won last season.

Chelsea enjoyed a marvellous run in the Champions League last term, going on to beat the likes of Atletico Madrid, Porto, Real Madrid and Manchester City on their way to lifting the most coveted trophy in European club football.
Zenit St Petersburg, meanwhile, endured a torrid time in the Champions League last season, as they crashed out at the group stages. And things will be tricky once again for Sergei Semak’s side, considering that they will also have to contend with Juventus and Malmo in the group, apart from Chelsea.

Hwoever, Zenit are no pushover. They have gone seven games unbeaten this season and top the Russian league table after a 3-1 win over Akhmat Grozny last time out.

The match will be played at the Stanford Bridge stadium, and kick off time is 8pm.Official?

Team news?

Chelsea has a major injury crisis. They will be without their dependable midfielder – Ngolo Kante who is yet to recover after suffering a knock against Liverpool. Also, Christian Pulisic has been ruled out after returning with an injury from international duty.

However, Malang Sarr, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley have been named in the squad.

Like Thomas Tuchel, Zenit St Petersburg manager Sergei Semak has a few selection headaches heading into the game as Dejan Lovren, Vyacheslav Karavaev and Magomed Ozdoev are all ruled out of the contest with injuries.
