NIG 0:1CAR: Why The Super Eagles Suffered A Defeat Against Visiting Side.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria played host to Les fauves of the Central African Republic Thursday at the Teslim Balogun stadium Surulere Lagos.

The second stage of the 2022 world cup qualifiers saw a host of Nigeria foreign based internationals lacking coordination especially at the midfield.

The absence of Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi due to the injury he sustained during Leicester City match was really felt. Brentford midfield player Frank Onyeka could not really play Ndidi’ role as he was overrun by his opponents most of the times.

At the second half Gernot Rohr made some changes, Muhammed Musa and Samuel Kalu were brought in but they had no impact to the game.

Poor marking and clearance in the defense team between Trost Ekong and Leon Balogun in the 18-yard box lead to the goal that gave Les fauves the victory, as the defenders lost control at stoppage time due to weak takle by Balogun and Ekong which Namnganda the CAR forward took advantage of at the 89th minutes into the end of the game and scored.
