Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has made a big request to Roman Abramovich to make a move for a Brazilian star even as Erling Haaland talks is confirmed.
Heading into the January transfer window and Chelsea have been hit with somewhat of a midfield injury crisis.
Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all sustained problems over recent weeks and are out for differing amounts of time.
One solution that Thomas Tuchel may have found is Real Madrid destroyer Casemiro.
According to El Nacional, the German has requested for Roman Abramovich to make a move for the Brazilian, and Real Madrid could be tempted to sell for a fee of €60million (£51m).
Elsewhere, a former Blues transfer target could be set for talks with his current employers.
Erling Haaland has drawn plenty of attention for his goalscoring form and amid suggestions that he has plenty of interest in his signature, club chief Hans-Joachim Watzke has confirmed that discussions are set to take place ahead of the January transfer window.
Talking to Amazon Prime Sport, he said: “I think we will speak in the next few weeks.
“We are not alone in control of this. We are a bit dependent on signals coming from him and his advisor.”
Gallagher not expecting Chelsea recall
Despite his excellent form with Crystal Palace over the first few weeks of the season, Conor Gallagher is not expecting to be recalled to Stamford Bridge, football.london understands.
The midfielder joined the Eagles on-loan for the campaign and has caught the eye under the tutelage of Patrick Vieira. His excellent displays have led to some suggestions that he should be brought back to Chelsea.
However, that will not be the case with the player himself expecting to remain at Selhurst Park and will then challenge for a first-team role next season.
