Tuchel’s Message To Rudiger Offers New Hope Between The Star And Club.

Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger has previously admitted how close he was to sealing a Paris Saint-Germain move in the past amid fresh links due to new contractual problems.

Rudiger, 28, put in another assured performance in the heart of the back three for the European Champions and he even bagged a goal in their away Premier League victory against Leicester City at the weekend.

His accomplished performance at the back has got a large majority of the west London faithful begging the player in question to commit his long-term future to the Blues.

On top of this, Thomas Tuchel’s message to the central defender has offered up new hope that a compromise can be made in this tense contractual standoff between Rudiger and the club.

“He (Rudiger) has been outstanding from day one and is getting better and better at a very high level,” Tuchel explained after the Blues’ victory at the King Power Stadium yesterday.

“The situation is the situation. We want him to stay, this is very clear and he knows it. But sometimes in these situations there is a certain delay and, obviously, there is a delay in these talks and his decision.

“It can happen these days but it does not effect his mentality, it doesn’t affect his quality, it doesn’t effect his behaviour. He is fully committed to Chelsea right now and I am absolutely sure he feels the trust, respect and love from the club and spectators.

“For me, he is a big competitor and he is exactly the right spot. He is in the most competitive league and at a club where winning matters, so let’s be a bit patient and hopefully we have a happy end.”

These contract worries wouldn’t have been of such a big magnitude if the trend under Frank Lampard would have continued regarding the ex-Roma man’s constant exclusion from the matchday squad.

Despite this trend being reversed by Tuchel himself, he didn’t want to take any credit for the incredible form we are now seeing week in, week out from Rudiger.

“I think Toni can deliver top quality no matter who is on the sideline,” Tuchel said. “He was a strong player in Italy and played under several strong coaches for Chelsea. He was always strong.

“We have a good relationship and he feels the trust and respect. He knows what to do, accepts his role, lives his role to the maximum and this is what we demand.

“We demand a lot from him and he delivers a lot. But I don’t think it’s dependent by who is on the sideline. I think a good relationship, a trustful and honest relationship, helps everyone. It helps me as a coach and every player. We want to instil this and keep this.

“At the moment, this is what we have. So it’s now Toni and my duty to keep this going.”

football.london understands that noting has changed from the last update that was provided on this contractual situation.

The £140,000-a-week offer still hasn’t been improved on from the Blues hierarchies side of things, meaning as it stands, Rudiger is free to talk to any club on the continent to arrange pre-contract agreements for when his deal expires in the summer.

One of the European giants that seem to be making early moves for the Germany international is in fact Tuchel’s former club, Paris Saint-Germain.

Foot Mercato via Sport Witness have claimed that PSG have now opened talks to bring Rudiger to the Parc des Pricess next summer, as they’re in touch with the player’s agent.

It’s claimed that ‘discussions are already underway’ between the Parisian side and Sahr Senesie, who represents the defender in the talks.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for Rudiger
